Astrid Hofmann
As an artist, line, angle, shape and colour interest
me and are strongly suggested in my works.
Line and shape are explored intensely in my prints and lithographs. The
simplicity of the medium allows for subtleties to occur in the exploration
of tone and intricate fine detail, as well as allowing for bold, intrepid
statements to be made with line.
Colour is the predominant focus of my paintings. Ofcourse line, shape
and angles are still intrinsic to the overall image, but colour becomes
the important focal point creating tensions within the works thus emphasizing
colours power and strengths to infuse an interplay of action and reaction
to stimulate interest.
